Hospital

The Edna Adan University Hospital has been operating as a non-profit charity in Somaliland since 2002. In addition to looking after the sick, we are a teaching hospital where nurses, midwives, laboratory technicians and pharmacists are trained.

Edna Adan Maternity and Teaching Hospital

The hospital is comprised of several departments which provide antenatal and postnatal care, immunizations, blood testing, HIV/AIDS screening, a blood bank, and more. The inpatient department includes the medical wards, paediatrics, maternity, incubation, minor surgery, and more.

Achievements of the hospital include the provision of basic and comprehensive essential obstetric care, human resource development, and the reduction of the rate of maternal and child mortality. The hospital is sustained in these efforts by support from a wide range of governmental and non-governmental organizations, by individual volunteers, and by the financial support of individual donors.
